Open Call: Clancy Quay + Superprojects Curatorial Fellowship 2025-26

Deadline: Wednesday 11 December, 2024

Superprojects is pleased to announce an Open Call for its second Curatorial Fellowship.

Superprojects is seeking expressions of interest from curators from minority ethnic backgrounds and/or who have lived experience of displacement and/or are shaped by histories of intergenerational migration for a Curatorial Fellowship based at Clancy Quay Studios, supported by Kennedy Wilson, and NCAD in Dublin and delivered in collaboration with SIRIUS in Cobh, County Cork, and NCAD Access in Dublin across 2025 and 2026.

This award enables the recipient to curate culturally diverse programming for children and young people in 2026, working with schools in Dublin in collaboration with NCAD Access and with Cork Migrant Centre in collaboration with SIRIUS. It includes participation in the Clancy Quay professional development programme, a full-time studio space at Clancy Quay studios, Dublin and a residency at SIRIUS. It also offers opportunities for mentorship, critical exchange and feedback, and networking provided by Superprojects and the partnering organisations.

The purpose of the award is to support a curator active in the realm of cultural diversity to develop their own practice through infrastructural and contextual experimentation and implementation in dialogue with the programming strategies of the collaborating organisations and in line with the widely recognised need for the Irish visual arts sector to engage with underrepresented and/or underprivileged communities.

Timeline and Activity

Year 1 focuses on the research and development of a programme aimed at primary and/or secondary school students to be realised in year 2. Superprojects will support the recipient to work with a school or schools in Dublin City Centre, in collaboration with the Access department at the National College of Art and Design. SIRIUS will support the recipient to work with Cork Migrant Centre. Year 1 also focuses on sessions at SIRIUS exploring the theoretical and institutional setting of curation as a civic practice, working with Cork Migrant Centre, towards the delivery of a programme in year 2.
